88 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A GOOD VALUE, the 2003 Syrah Gravity Hills Base Camp exhibits notes of wood, smoke, tapenade, and black currants. Reminiscent of a junior Hermitage, but more forward than its French counterpart, it should drink well for 3-5 years.

90 points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A superb effort, the 2003 Syrah Gravity Hills Killer Climb offer beautiful aromas of camphor, crème de cassis, smoke, and damp earth. It possesses a pleasant, layered impression on the palate, impressive purity, medium to full body, and plenty of persistence. This European-styled beauty displays surprisingly moderate alcohol for a Central Coast Syrah (14.4%). It should be consumed over the next 5-6 years.

Tumbling Tractor 2004 Tank Sample Rating: (88-90) points

Review by Robert Parker  Wine Advocate #165 (Jun 2006)
Drink 2006-2009
Estimated Cost: $15.00

I hope the bottled wine turns out as well as the tank sample I tasted of Gravity Hills’ 2004 Zinfandel Tumbling Tractor. A terrific value, it exhibits a deep ruby/purple color along with a gloriously sweet, jammy perfume of black cherries, berries, and licorice. Spicy, impressively-endowed, nicely-textured, pure, and well-made, it is a Zinfandel to buy by the case. Enjoy it over the next 1-3 years.
